Back to it!

It’s taken me a while, but finally, I am back to writing!  Last year was a bit odd / off in that one of the things I love to do, I hardly did.  For many reasons, writer’s block, discouragement, busyness with way, way too many other projects and priorities, I pretty much put the writing projects (novels and short stories) aside in late January or early February 2012, thinking I’d get back to them sooner than I did.  By December 2012, I was not so thrilled to look back and realize that another year had gone by, days, weeks and months that I can’t get back…gone, but not fully wasted, thankfully.

I learned several things, and was reminded of many important truths:

1)      We get one shot so take it and make it everything you desire it to be.  It’s up to you and no one else

2)      Don’t wait for the perfect time, but make today ideal because in its imperfection is true perfection

3)      Be selfish.  Not in that way, but in the way that allows you to make the most of your time, gifts, talents and dreams for in doing so you will be serving others, achieving personal enrichment and fulfillment, and bringing glory to God.

4)      Last but not least: “Damn the torpedoes…full speed ahead!”

So, I’m back at it and thankfully, for the past two weekends, I’ve been “in the zone” all the way.  I know there will be bumps and detours, inspirations and let downs, triumphs and setbacks, but I’m all in, and…I have a plan…

About malcolm2030

I started my formal study of a traditional Japanese martial art during my freshman year in college in late 1990 and in early 2017, I took a leap of faith and have been teaching traditional martial arts and fitness on a full-time basis. I enjoy researching and exploring topics ranging from health and fitness, brain science and quantum physics, to relational dynamics, energy, and optimum living. I believe that we all should be daily evolving toward our true potential; while there will be times when we fall back, or get pushed back, or knocked down, the sum of our steps over a given period of time should be forward.

I think we ALL had an “off” year last year. And now, the general consensus I’m getting for this year is… OK!! Let’s go!!! That’s a good thing. 🙂
Yes, proud of you. Can’t wait to read some of your projects! xoxo
