A few weeks ago, I reached the point where I began to think about the second part of my plan
to take over the–. As mentioned in my post The Plan, Part 1…, I’m focusing fully on The Hidden and now, I’ve reached the halfway point in this revision. So, it is time to share The Plan, Part 2:
-Finish revising The Hidden on or by August 18th… This is quite an aggressive goal and I’m not sure I can hit it, but I’m going to push and push. (Actually, given that I have about five weeks left until then, and given that I still have about 300 pages left…which means I’d have to revise a minimum of 60 pages per week / weekend…uh, yeah…IT CANNOT BE DONE. BUT, another option has presented itself…more on that in the next post…)
-Begin re-researching literary agents and agencies in mid-July… I’m going to search high and low because I know the right agent is out there waiting for the opportunity to work together with me. No doubt.
-As soon I’ve completed the revision, I’ll apply for a new copyright and begin sending query letters once again. None of this plan is easy, but this is part, it’s gonna take tenacity, willpower, objectivity and clear focus all the way through, no matter how many rejection letters / emails, hate-mails, etc I may receive back from potential agents.
-As a fallback, I’ll also be researching what it means to self-publish. I want to give the traditional means of publication a real and fair chance, totally as it’s my first choice, but I think it’s good to understand the alternative method as well, just in case.
That’s the plan as it stands today. Truthfully, I wrote this entry a couple weeks ago and have just edited and posted it. Yeah, it’s seem pretty impossible, but I believe there is always a way, when we have faith, heart and work flippin’ hard to make things happen. I’m hard pressed as I look at the next five weeks, but I am not giving up; I am going to successfully accomplish this, the first of many writing goals.
