About

I write because it is what I must do; it flows up from deep inside me, and I deeply enjoy expressing myself through creative written story.  My primary focus is science-fiction / action-adventure, and this seems to come naturally to me, perhaps due to the fact that since I was a kid, I’ve been a science-fiction dreamer.  I grew up on such television shows  as Star Trek, The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, Battle of the Planets, Voltron (the lions, not the cars..), etc, etc, etc.  I always ran home from elementary school during Japanese monster movie week and outer space adventure week, and I watched any and all Saturday afternoon sci-fi that I could find.  As a kid and a youth, I spent hours imagining adventures and building things; as an adult, I still do this, but now, I do it on paper.

I wrote and illustrated my first “just for fun” story in about 3rd or 4th grade.  It was a few pages detailing the adventure of a team from Earth journeying to stop evil alien robots on a distant planet.  In high school, I wrote four short stories for classroom assignments; that’s when I really began to feel the spark.  The first was a rather comical tale about a karate kicking flea taking on and taking out dragons.  The other short stories were downright science-fiction action adventures; the first was about a time-traveling college student, the second, about an extra-dimensional invasion, was titled “Shadow Terror” (I won a classroom award for this one) and the third involved two aliens coming to earth to retrieve a prisoner.

It wasn’t until after college that I really started writing my first actual novel.  I was underemployed at the time, so I had nothing but time.  I wrote it on a Brother word-processor and completed about 70% of the book before I became over-employed about a year later.  I still have that book and will definitely get back to it; more on that soon.

I started writing again in 2006 after I finally decided to purchase a computer.  I finished that book, The Hidden, in 2008 and have been working to edit and sharpen it.  After receiving the copyright in 2011, I began seeking an agent for it, while I worked on the sequel to The Hidden as well as another book and a short story.  I’ve written a couple of page-long real-life fiction stories for friends along the way too. Currently, none of my works have been published but that will soon change.

Along with writing, my days are filled with learning, seeking, striving for personal growth, work (mechanical engineering, new product development) and studying and teaching traditional Japanese karate.  I enjoy spending time with family and friends, I dig great food, and also enjoy experiencing new things, and I like just thinking about, and pondering…life and stuff.

  1. Every tiny acorn hides a strong oak tree deep inside… Take the oak out in the light, my friend! We’re looking forward to seeing you growing and becoming that wonderful writer we’ve been waiting for! 🙂
